I was reared in a Christian home. My mother was the greatest influence, she divorced my birth father and later married my stepfather who became for me my father. So we went from a staunchly protestant (Presbyterian) family  in Belfast to an Irish Protestant mother married to an Italian Catholic stepfather in Australia in the 1950’s. I really have done the grand tour of Christian traditons. Been through them all like a dose of salts.  Anglican, Baptist, Catholic (Roman), Quaker, Presbyterian and finally ended up becoming a Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church in Australia. I have been a preacher for thirty six years and even though I am retired I still lead worship from time to time.
